Structural details:

Every luthier has his own approach to guitar construction and design, but for most of us the key to guitar making lies especially in soundboard design.

When designing soundboards there are two major variables in play: weight and strength. Soundboards too heavy or stiff will not effectively conduct string vibrations resulting in poor sound, while soundboards too light might not resist the bridge torque generated by string pull, and eventually collapse. I prefer thinner, lighter tops that produce a more explosive and immediate sound. I use an internal structure or fan to add structural stability and to help shaping the sound I desire.

I build my guitars to concentrate string energy on the soundboards, therefore I build a reinforced side lining to prevent energy leakage where the soundboard meets the sides. Bridge size and weight as well as neck-to-body joint and neck design are also built with this in mind. I use an external mold that helps me add rigidity to the contour.

My guitars are responsive, clear and balanced. They have good volume, sustain and projection and are easy to play.

The guitars:

I offer two different models for concert guitars. These come with either cedar or spruce soundboards, and are built with only master-grade woods. They are hand finished shellac.
